The little girl forever watched the mountains ahead
She watched the leaves change from green to gold,
From gold to brown and fade away

She watched the colours wave from white of snow to ripe summer's fruits
She watched until she was little no more and knew all the leaves and hills
And all the shapes and shadows her mountain made

On the other side an ocean roared and a little boy forever watched ahead
He watched the seagulls nest and the waves ravish the rocks
He watched the storms' fury and he felt the angered wind

He saw the sea fill and go wild and the way it was low and still
He saw the colours change from midnight blue to chilly green
He watched untill he was little no more and knew all the waves and all the rocks
And the tides and the winds his sea made and endured

On a daring day he climbed the mountain high to watch his sea
On a daring day she ventured in her friendly trees up the mountain side
In a flick of fate they crossed the same path and both knew there was no turning back

They stared unspoken while the seasons changed
In her face he saw the tides and winds and the seagulls song
In his face she saw the golden leaves fall and snow cover the mountain top
They saw the storms on the far deep blue and flowers and fruits on the trees

And so they walked to where the trees turn to sand
Embraced in lover's arms watching the sea and the mountain for all eternity
