I look out the window and watch the rain
And the cold streams going down the road
The driping of endless thoughts soothes me
I long to be outside to feel the cold on my skin
To follow the pebbles and the leaves
On adventures I envy and wish I could join
But I enjoy the warmth of the window
And the protection of the glass
I look down on the water
And smile and feel warm
I hear nothing but the storm outside
All of the sudden courage takes hold of me
My movement owns me and drags me to the door
One final thought, a whisper, seduces me (Why not?)
My heart is full for I have escaped this world seen through glass
With rain and wind and leaves and pebbles as my only friends
