In the desert of my mind I stumble
The waves of fire in the distance
Lure me and provoke every corner of me
Making my thoughts grow wild and lose

They enticed me to seek them
They made me run untill time stood still
Not afraid not in a haste I ran


I feel my face hasn't changed
The years have faded in my memory
I remember nothing but the run and the stillness

No sound to comfort me
No wind to cool me
No cloud to shade me
Only sun and moon forever

I run to the flames far away
Feeling the burn in my legs
My heart telling me I won't make it

But the dream and the rush
Prevent me from giving in
For to you my fire I must run

I have ran to you for as long as I can remember
And in my final moments
My heart was right I couldn't make it

But at last I run no more
And feel no more
No kind moon and no harsh sun
For the first time in a thousand years I sleep

And the fire consumes my dreams as I have always wished
