The Chase

Through the harsh wind I press on
Slow steps and careful footing

Steady and weak
I strive after your shadow far ahead

The leaves fall furious and dizzy all around me
The branches yelling an unkind warning
The path that lay ahead is obscure and dangerous
Yet I call back to them the necessity to bring a word to you

Cold and slow the tears burn my cheeks
As I walk ahead through this selfish storm
I fall behind and struggle to find you

Desperate to reach you
The word bleeding in the back of my throat

As I reach a shore the sinking sand grips my feet
And far I see your shadow trapped amongst the high angry waves
Your face happy and your body healed

The trees tug at my clothes and tear my skin harshly
The leaves tangle my hair as the wind clasps my wrists
Even the sands restrained my ankles enough to sink my toes

They warn me I cannot pursue you further
For you go where no one can follow

At last I can fight them no more so I scream to the sea

And hope you hear me

So my old template died and after a quick funeral and some angry/hurt things were said that no one really meant I put it in the ground and set about to find a new one... And here it is!
Took forever to fix some bugs and still some work to do on it but I quite enjoy it and hope you do too =)
